My name is Joshua Churchill. I am a woodworker based in Ripon, North Yorkshire, where I live with my family.

The name 'Foon', came about when my daughter started to talk. As all children do, she struggled with pronounciation, and often came out with some hilarious sounds.

One ordinary day, all three of us sat down for breakfast, 'bessed' as our daughter calls it. She picked up her spoon to start eating, and, just before taking a mouthful, the sound 'foon' came out.

Ever since, a spoon has been affectionately known as a 'foon' in our house.
